*chapter 3*
Junno woke up extra early the day of his and Koki’s outing. The night before after he called Koki, he had looked through all his clothes and luggage, luckily to find some money he had hidden, and it seemed enough for a meal. But before Junno left to his outing with Koki, he did his same routine, perfectly putting away his clothes in his luggage and rolling up his futon.
Junno held his wallet in his hand tightly as he put it in his jeans pocket.
“It should be okay… I’ll explain to the landlady later… and plead her to give more time…” he thought as he walked pass the landlady’s apartment quietly.
The rain had stopped that night and the street was left with its misty scent, Junno had always loved this smell, a smell of a new day, as if the rain had come and washed away all the bad luck there were. He gave out a smile and ran down the street.

“Master Ueda, please wake and prepare for school,” the head maid said as he tapped lightly on Ueda’s bedroom door.
“Jin... I’m not going to school today.” Ueda said as he opened the door to see Jin. Jin bowed to greet the young master, even though they were about the same age.
Jin Akanishi, the head maid of the mansion and also the boyfriend of the driver Kazuya Kamenashi. As long as Jin could remember, his family had always served the Ueda’s. Jin’s grandmother was the head maid until she retired and handed the position to Jin when he was 15. At first he hated the job but when he met Kame, who was Ueda’s ‘butler’ at the time before he also became Ueda’s driver too, he started to change; he started enjoying work, just to see Kame. One day he confesses to Kame and Kame felt the same. Since then they been together, Ueda didn’t seem to mind and the other maids, which are mostly girls, thought it was cute and root for their relationship. Kame, in the other hand, was one of the top students in his school, but when he met Ueda in Junior High School, he was draw to Ueda’s distressing eyes and that was when he knew that he was meant to serve Ueda, he wanted to take care of that sad boy. Since that day on he followed Ueda doing everything a ‘butler’ would do. At first Ueda just thought that Kame was weird but somehow it became a job for Kame, he even get pay for doing it now, even though he don’t feel right taking the money, he still get pay. However, when he was draw to Ueda, he knew it was just a ‘mother and son’ kind of relationship, he never felt anything more, until he met Jin for the first time and fell in love.
“But young master, you skipped yesterday and now you’re planning to skip today?” Jin asked. Ueda nodded and closed the door again, leaving Jin without another word to say.
Jin walked down the long hallway until he reached the balcony stairs; he looked down and noticed Kame standing by the doorway.
“Kamenashi-kun, you can go back and turn off the engine, the young master’s not going to school today either,” Jin said as he walked down the stair to meet up with Kame.
Kame glanced up the stairs as Jin walked down, “I wonder if he’s feeling well…” asked Kame, Jin walked up and took his hand, “Don’t worry too much, he’ll be okay. He seemed fine to me…”
“Okay…” Kame said as he walked out, but suddenly Jin hugged him from behind and kissed him gently on the cheek, “Try not to push yourself too hard.” He whispered. Kame smiled and nodded as he walked out the door.
Even though Kame assured Jin that he only love Jin, Jin sometime doubt that, although he try hard not to. Since it was Ueda that Kame met first and was draw to, Jin sometime wondered if Kame really meant what he said to Jin. Jin sighed and decides to go release his frustration on the other maids.
*****************************
Ueda sat there on the couch looking out at the rising sun. The day before, Kame came and picked him up, explaining to Ueda what Junno thought was happening. Clearing up why Junno had done what he did, which was pouring wine on Ueda’s head.
Ueda couldn’t help but think that Junno was a pig-headed person, why would he jump to conclusion, Ueda had thought that Junno was mistaken but to had thought that he asked Yui to pour wine on Junno was an outrage to Ueda. The more Ueda think about Junno, the more he wanted an apology, at first he wanted to apologize to Junno, but now it’s the other way around. Who did Junno think he is? Ueda finally decide to go take a shower and change, he was determining to find the pig-headed, cheesy boy and get an apology.
*****************************
*Knock knock*
Suddenly the door swinged open, in front of Junno’s eyes, a cheerful Koki stood.
Junno quickly gave out one of his signature smile, “Good morning! Are you ready for our outing?” asked Junno.
“As ready as I’ll ever be!” shouted out Koki, making Junno kinda surprise, he thought that he came a little bit too early and that maybe Koki was still sleepy. But he was wrong; Koki was full of energy and active. What he didn’t know was that after he had called Koki to hang out with him, Koki couldn’t sleep a wink. He was so excited and couldn’t wait until the sun comes up.
As Koki closed the door of his apartment, he glanced at Junno. Junno noticed and smiled, “So where do you want to go?” Junno asked.
“Anywhere is fine,” Koki said as he walked ahead.
“Oh! Every perfect date start with a perfect breakfast!” yelled out Junno as he tried to catch up with Koki.
“D-date?!…” Koki uttered in surprise, he had wanted to call it a date, but he wasn’t sure how Junno would react, but when Junno said it was a ‘date’ it made him kinda happy.
Junno noticed how Koki said it, “Date as a friend, of course,” Junno said, thinking that maybe Koki was appalled with the word ‘date’ between two guys, but this only made Koki facial appearance gloomier, which made Junno confuse.
They had breakfast in a small café, talking about childhood memories, there was happy moment to sad ones, but Junno smiled through it all.
They had taken the underground subway on their way to visit the zoo. The subway was rather crowded, but somehow Koki had gotten both Junno and himself a seat. Junno don’t know how Koki does it, he only glared at these two strangers once without saying a word, and before Junno knew it, the two stranger had already gone to the other side of the sub. But Junno was the idiotic, yet kind type; he obviously offered his seat to an elder lady. Before long the elder lady fell asleep and her head rested on Koki’s shoulder, Junno couldn’t help but giggle because the elder lady was drooling on Koki. This traumatized Koki but he just sat there, giving Junno looks as Junno giggle. When the subway suddenly stop and the place were announced, Junno gently awaked the elder lady to ask if she was getting off there. The elder lady thanked them and apologize numerous of time to Koki, then she left.
“She was a sweet old lady,” said Junno as he sat down next to Koki.
“Sure, a sweet old lady who drool a lot!” Koki mutter loud enough so Junno could hear, as Koki glanced at his soak shoulder.
Junno smile and looked at Koki, “Even though she was drooling, you let her sleep. That show how nice you are. You try to act tough, but I know you inside out!” he said as he leaned in to look at Koki’s eyes.
Koki suddenly pushed Junno and turned his back to Junno, “Tsk… you don’t know me.” he murmured, Junno smile and turn his attention to the front. If Junno were to have faced Koki, he would have seen that Koki’s face was flushed. Koki glanced back at Junno, “If you know me inside out, you should had now realize how I feel for you by now,” he whispered.
“Huh? What did you say?” Junno asked as he turned back to give his full attention to Koki.
“W-what? I didn’t say anything, maybe you hearing things! AN…ANYWAYS! When do we get there?” exclaimed Koki trying to change the subject. Suddenly the subway stopped.
“We’re here,” Junno said as he stood and walked ahead. Koki suddenly stood and slapped his face to get rid of the redness as he followed Junno.
The animals were rather lazy, Koki made faces at the animals, but it didn’t change the fact that they weren’t doing much. Junno suddenly pointed out the lions.
“Do you know why they are known as the king of all animal?” he asked Koki.
Koki smirked, “Why?” he answered, getting ready one of Junno’s lame jokes.
“Because at the beginning of time god made all the animals fight, and of course the lion won. You should have seen when the whale fought against the lion. Luckily the whale couldn’t breathe because it was out of water, so the lion won that one too.” said Junno as he gave out his trademark smile.
Koki smirked, “But aren’t whale’s mammals too, making them breathe easily?” asked Koki.
“Eh… well you see, the whale couldn’t move… so the lion took advantage of this.” Junno said as he suddenly got slap on the back of his head, making him laugh.
“Now I know you making things up,” said Koki, as he made a face at the lions.
Before they knew it the whole day pass by. They had lunch and had visited all the animals in the zoo.
“Hmm… what now?” asked Junno as he glanced at Koki as they glanced at their very last animal, the hog.
“We should catch that thing and eat it for dinner,” Koki said as he attempted to climb the gate, Junno pulled him back down, “No, that’s not what I mean, I meant, where do you want to go now that we had visited the whole zoo.” explained Junno.
Koki glanced at Junno, somehow he felt sad. Was it really that boring to be with him? All Koki wanted was to be with Junno, he didn’t mind if there was nothing to talk about, he just want to be near Junno… but maybe Junno never felt same.
Suddenly Junno looked at his watch, “Dinner!” he yelled as he looked up at Koki.
“Huh?” But before Koki knew it, he was being pull by Junno toward the exit of the zoo and toward a ramen shop, just as they reached the entrance, they heard yelling.
“I WON’T TAKE THIS ANYMORE!! I QUIT! YOU’LL SEE! ONE DAY I’LL WILL BECOME FAMOUS! AND YOU’LL HAD WISH YOU BEEN KINDER TO ME!” yelled what seems to be the cooker running out of the shop.
“Wait! Don’t go! I’ll pay you more! 950 yen an hour! Wait! Don’t go!” yelled the boss as he ran out too, but the cooker didn’t even glance back, he just yelled, “Good luck running that little shop of yours without me!”
The boss suddenly stops right next to Junno and Koki as they all watched the cooker walk off. Then the boss turned to them, “Let me guess… you’re here for some ramen too? I’m sorry but we might go out of business.” he said as he started crying.
“W-wait, don’t cry! If you looking for a cook, my friend here is a great cook! No matter what type of ramen, he could make it all,” said Junno as he tries to comfort the boss.
“*sniff* great cook? *sniff* don’t try to convince yourself, it’s okay if this shop goes down, since it was famous for the ramen and now that the only man who can make the signature ramen just walked out, it’s… the shop gonna be out of business. WAAAH!” cried out the boss.
“Geez! Old man, shut your trap! If you want to see prove so freakin much, I’ll make you some ramen!” yelled out Koki. This kinda shut the boss off, cause he got scare. And before they all knew it Koki was taking over the kitchen, making all sorts of ramen, starting from scratch. Both Junno and the boss watched in amazement.
“There, done!” yelled Koki as he laid down five perfectly made kinds of ramen.
“*sniff* it might look good, but would it taste good.” asked the boss, not believing that this mafia looking person could make such thing.
“Damn, just shut the hell up and eat, you’re getting on my nerves, no wonder that cooker left your sorry ass!” yelled Koki.
“Koki-kun… shh!” said Junno.
The boss slowly and nervously took a bite out of one of them, both Junno and Koki watched carefully. Suddenly waves of tears fell off of the boss eyes.
“Why is he crying?” asked Junno as he looked at Koki, “What did you put in there? Too much onion? Did you poison him? Koki-kun?”
But Koki just kept on looking.
“*Sniff* I’m crying because…because… THIS IS THE BEST RAMEN I EVER TASTED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!” he yelled as Junno and Koki saw imaginary volcanoes exploding in the boss’s background. He unexpectedly kneels down to Koki. “I most have you! How much do you want? I’ll give you whatever you want! I want to hire you! PLEASE! I’m sorry I deny you! I’m sorry!” yelled the boss as he tries to kiss Koki’s feet, but Koki held him away by pushing him on the forehead.
“Whoa! Who said I was gonna work here, I just wanted to prove to you!” yelled Koki.
“950 yen a hour!” yelled Junno, both the boss and Koki looked at Junno.
“950 yen a hour, if you hire him, that’s the payment.” Junno repeated.
“What?!” yelled Koki as he pushed the boss off and walked toward Junno, “What do you mean?!”
Junno smiled at Koki, “It’s perfect, you got fire because of me and you haven’t found a job yet, so this is perfect,” Junno said.
“B-but.” Koki had wanted a job that he could be with Junno.
“Please just take this job, it’s a good paying job, I feel guilty getting you fire… and-” but before he could finish, Koki yelled out, “Fine then I’ll take the job!” since he didn’t want Junno to feel responsible for something he didn’t even do.
“Oh thank you, thank you!” yelled the boss as he ran to Junno almost giving him some kisses, but luckily Koki pulled the boss by the back collar, “”Don’t you dare!” he yelled. The boss smiled, “Oh Koki! I didn’t know you wanted my kisses all to yourself!” he said as he was gonna kiss Koki, fortunately Koki pushed him.
“When could I work?” Koki asked.
“Hmm… you just have to fill out some paper and you can work right now!” the boss said, finally getting serious.
“B-but” Koki still wanted to spent time with Junno.
“It’s okay, you can go ahead! I want some ramen.” said Junno, suddenly a couple of business people walked in. And before Junno knew it, Koki was busy cooking.
After Junno had finish his ramen, he had left Koki still working as he walked home, he would take the subway, but he didn’t have enough money left, and as he walked he felt a rain drop, before long it started raining hard again! What was it about Junno that the sky hated so much, so for a while Junno walked through the rain without an umbrella.
Finally after a hour of walking in the rain, he finally reached home. He walked pass some trashes, that wasn’t in bags, he glanced and recognize it. It was his luggage and futon, they were all soaked. Junno couldn’t believe what he was seeing, he suddenly ran up the stairs and toward his apartment door, he quickly took out the key and put it in, but it couldn’t go in. What was going on here!? He looked through the tiny windows of his apartment, and it really was his stuffs that were out in the trash place, because the apartment was empty. He immediately ran to the landlady’s apartment and knocked on it.
But he only heard yelling, “Get the hell out! I will not stand for another late pay!” Junno stopped knocking and stood there as the rain fell.
The landlady had threw out his things and changed the lock while Junno was hanging out with Koki. Where could he go now? He walked slowly, not believing what was happening, toward his stuffs. That was when he sat himself down next to his stuff and hugged his legs. He really was trash now. It was still raining and Junno was finally happy it was raining, because it hid his tears.
As Junno almost fell asleep in the position, he suddenly heard “Yo.” Junno slowly rose his head to look up just to see a shadow before he fainted.
Ueda quickly grabbed Junno before he hit the ground.
